Dr. Shin Park, ND

Hi! My name is Shin and I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practising in Edmonton, Alberta. You are welcome to call me Shin, Dr. Park, Dr. Shin, whatever is comfortable for you. I serve patients all over Alberta. I am able to be your Naturopathic Doctor if you are in a province/state/country where you do not have access to a licensed Naturopathic Doctor via telemedicine (phone/online; for more info click here).

I was born in South Korea, immigrated to Richmond, BC in grade 9, moved to Edmonton in 2018. I speak both Korean and English.

My education/training involves my degree of Bachelor of Science at University of British Columbia (4 years) and Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from The Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (4 years), where I got vigorous training in how human body, health, and nature work synergistically. I am trained in traditional asian medicine including acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, botanical medicine, nutrition, counselling, supplements, labs, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, Rubimed therapy, Psychosomatic Energetics, Naturopathic doula, CranioSacral level one. I am a member in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta, Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

I treat patients with digestive conditions, hormonal imbalances, infertility, sleep disturbance, chronic fatigue, gallbladder removal, inability to lose weight, anxiety, depression, being on multiple medications, kidney diseases, Alzhiemer’s disease, and past emotional trauma. Also children related health concerns.

Whoa, that was a lot of words. Let’s get into the real me.

There are many Naturopathic Doctors available in Edmonton, in Alberta, in Canada, and you are wondering where to go, who to see to address your health concerns and be the best you. I understand this as I am also a patient when I am not working as a Naturopathic Doctor. I think able to make connections with your doctor is critical when it comes to health. You want to be able to talk, be listened to, bounce off ideas, and be respected of your choices.

I am a human being, loves to help others, be there for others, have heart to heart conversation that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy, if you know what I mean.

Jimmy at his work

I am a wife to my wonderful husband, Jimmy, who supports 200% of what I do, what I strive for in my life. He makes me a bit more wonderful being than I ever was, and he makes me want to be a better human being on this planet.

I am a mom to an awesome child, YooNa, who is going to 19 month old (already!) as I write this. She has brought to a next level that I didn’t know it existed in me, to be strong, surviving and thriving, function on a few or no sleep, and to love and give unconditionally. We are expecting our second child in 2022 March and we are thrilled. We hope to have a few more children in the future, if God willing. We have been blessed so far with so many aspects in life.

About my practice… I have a wonderful practice right now, seeing patients at my home (we live in an apartment). I can say my dream practice has begun. My daughter YooNa joins me and my patients love seeing both of us, thankfully. They often come with a small gift for YooNa (like stickers, toys) and I honestly think that they come to see YooNa more than to see me.

YooNa and I greet our patients from the visitor parking lot and YooNa often waves hi and passes on the visitor parking pass. We start our visit from there: walking from the parking lot to hallway, to the elevator, and then to our apartment and into our clinic room.

Last year when we started our clinic, I used carry YooNa in a baby carrier while seeing patients.

YooNa loves to hang out in the clinic room the end of our day

My in-person visits are about 1-2 hours depending on what you need that day: counselling, organ testing, chakra testing, supplement testing, PEMF treatment, Acupuncture treatment. Basically I don’t let you go home (according to my patients), unless you are feeling much better than the beginning of our visit. Spending 1-2 hours, I get to learn so much about you. Actually you get to learn so much about you. The connections and understanding you get to experience through these visits are simply amazing and I am always in awe witnessing my patients leaping forward, towards health.

Please come open-minded, ready to explore and ready to start your healing journey!

Whatever reason you are not able to come in for your visit, I am also available via telemedicine (more info click here). If you have babies, toddlers, children, please feel free to bring them. They are always welcome at our clinic to just hang out or get treated. I really love treating the whole family. When a family becomes healthier, I think that’s the start of a healthier community. Let’s make our community healthier together.

I can’t wait to see you.
Let’s begin.
See you very soon.

Further Information about Telemedicine:

Telemedicine is only reserved for a situation where patients are not able to meet Dr. Park in person as they are separated by distance. Patients need to understand that via Telemedicine, diagnostic, assessment and treatment limitations could be present, also the potential privacy, confidentiality and information security risks are associated. Patients’ informed consent must be obtained prior to proceeding with telemedicine appointments. Furthermore, Dr. Park can only provide naturopathic services to patients who reside in unregulated provinces/states/countries, as she is only licensed in Alberta, Canada. Although Telemedicine is available, in person naturopathic service is highly recommended for more accurate assessment for patients.

Testimonial From Dr. Park’s patients:

“I met with Dr. Park today and was so nervous initially. Right when I first met Dr. Park I was instantly calm. Her demeanour was so refreshing and I felt like I could openly speak with her about my concerns. She took time to actually go over what I was experiencing and listened to the ways I felt towards my health. I was thrilled to actually have someone genuinely care for my concerns with my health. Her approach to my treatment was all geared towards working on the cause of my problems and not just prescribing medication to mask the symptoms. She was extremely knowledgable in her treatment and I left there feeling optimistic that I will see results. I’m excited to see where my treatment takes me and look forward to my follow up with Dr.Park.”

– a 5-star review from a happy patient 🙂
